Unmissably, as the season slowly transitions from spring to summer, we are beginning to see an array of pastels, pops of colour, cottons, silks and laces all at our disposal, and beckoning us to indulge ourselves in purchasing them. As the weather grows warmer, femininity seems to have a much larger appeal, with flowing, romantic silhouettes making themselves more and more apparent, and the dress becoming ever more popular with the growing heat. As well as the obvious reason of the practicality in these garments (slightly less so in England, thanks to the incessant rain.) , there is seemingly much more occasion to wear these more formal pieces when it comes to the summer. Many will be aware of the fact that summer is both wedding and prom season, in addition to being the time for garden parties, galas, and races, therefore it is nothing less than necessary to buy something appropriate for these events. Of course, it is not always practical to buy individual outfits for every single party, however, treating yourself to just one new piece can transform your whole summer wardrobe. On this post are some of my favourite outfits for summer events!

Somehow, through this dress, my everlasting love of black clothing seamlessly transitions from winter to summer. Made in a light viscose, with an amazing drape,it encapsulates the summers romantic silhouettes in a darker, less ‘girly’ dress.

Dolce and Gabbana
I feel as if it is made painfully evident by this blog, that I love Dolce and Gabbana unconditionally, and this dress does not disappoint. With bright, statement patterns, and white buttons decorating the front of the dress, the classic 50’s silhouette looks modern and chic as ever.
£1,600, Dolce and Gabbana
Unmistakeably summery and feminine, this dress, with its lace and embroidered detailing, is somewhat reminiscent of a Victorian tea dress, yet is updated to be a chic and memorable number to wear to any event. An added bonus is the thin fabric, which will prevent the dress’s tight fit being suffocating as it has the potential to be.
This jumpsuit is the definition of versatility, with its simple but elegant style putting emphasis on the cut and flow of the fabrics. Taking you from wedding, to dinner, even to a prom or party, this jumpsuit would be an amazing summer investment, which can be accessorised to fit your style and personality.
£113, Ted Baker
What I loved most about this jumpsuit was its unmistakable likeness to a ballgown, which makes an elegant, yet more unique outfit, perfect for a wedding or charity ball, for example. Undoubtedly, this is also perfect for those who admire ballgowns and dresses from afar, yet o not like to wear dresses, as it gives the same, timeless appearance, yet with an element of practicality that is seemingly lost under large, gauzy skirts.

Clothing like this is what makes me wish that pink suited my skin tone, yet unfortunately, I have not been blessed with that luxury. However, this jumpsuit is amazing for thosethat can wear this beautiful colour. the artistic floral print adds a pop of bright colour to this pastel jumpsuit, that makes it even more summer-ready, along with the wide leg, which creates a loose, cool outfit to wear to any summer event!
Elie Saab seems to have the unfailing ability to deliver to us elegant, yet out-of-the-ordinary pieces, that stand out amongst a crowd. A suit, in a sea of romantic tea dresses will no doubt do this. With the pastel colour, shorts and the stud detailing, this particular suit is an amazing ensemble for a summer party, that can be worn together or separately, to allow your originality to shine through.

What I undoubtedly love the most about this suit, is the simple-but-effective use of fabrics and cut to make a modern, sleek suit, which shows that clothing by no means has to be tight fitted, or stereotypically ‘girly’ to be attractive. Instead, the loose fit coordinates with the demure pastel hue, to create a suit that can be carried from a wedding to a work day, all with the help of the right accessories!
Blazer:- £79.99, Mango
Trousers:- £49.99, Mango
Brightly coloured, and boldly designed, this suit will not just make you stand out, but will inevitably make you the subject of much admiration. This not only makes a statement of originality, but demonstrates a boldness, and emphasises the warmth and happiness of the season. Trimmed with ruffles, this is nothing less than a feminine yet avant garde approach to summer style.
